VP Finance/Business Development

FLSA Status - Salary, Exempt

Travel Time - An Average of 10% of Travel Required Monthly

Reports To - Chief Executive Officer

Positions Supervised - Marketing & Communications Manager, Financial Reporting Officer, Internal Control Officer, ACH/EFT Manager

Position requires BS/BA in Finance/Economics or equivalent and 8-10 years progressive management experience with full service Credit Unions/Banks.

Finance

  • Monitors capital adequacy, asset quality and liquidity.
  • Provides information, analysis, and recommendations for effective asset/liability management and investment portfolio management by reviewing and monitoring all phases of operations as they relate to the ALM process and reports findings to the ALCO Committee.
  • Assists the Senior Management Team in the preparation and implementation of the annual operating plan for the credit union which is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
  • Responsible for assisting Management in developing the credit union's strategic plan through a review of membership needs, expansion opportunities, capital expenditures and competitor's activities in the local market. Defines financial goals and incorporates them into the strategic plan and measures performance against the strategic plan.
  • Evaluates the job performance of direct reports to ensure quality of work and service to members. Designs and develops training plan for each direct report. Provides coaching, motivation, and support for subordinates. Manages human resources within the credit union's Accounting and Marketing divisions.
  • Serves as the Credit Union's liaison with regulatory agency examiners and auditors. Assists and cooperates with auditors and examiners reviewing the financial accounts of the credit union.
  • Responsible for Interest Rate Risk Management, Liquidity Management and Asset Liability Pricing.
  • Responsible for Mortgage Loan Product Development, Pricing and Marketing Strategies.
  • Mortgage Portfolio & Pricing

  • Oversees the direction of the credit union's secondary mortgage market operations; determines pricing and underwriting standards for primary home mortgage loans, investment, and secondary home loans. Ensures the safety and soundness of all aspects of the mortgage program, and compliance with all regulatory and secondary market lending standards
  • Oversees the packaging of mortgage loans for sale to FHLMC (Freddie Mac) to meet liquidity needs.
  • Business Development

  • Responsible for assisting Management in developing the credit union's strategic plan through the review of membership needs, expansion opportunities, capital expenditures and competitor's activities in the local market. Defines financial goals and incorporates them into the strategic plan and measures performance against the strategic plan.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Marketing Communications Manager/Marketing team
  • Works with MARCOM Manager to establish marketing goals and objectives that will expand the credit union's market share and ensure the profitability of products and services
  • Plan and Develop marketing concepts along with the Marketing Communications Manager to identify new growth opportunities in CFCU's field of membership.
  • Defines ROI of marketing activities; ensures activities support credit union initiatives and goals; analyzes promotional results
  • Responsible for credit union sales, field of membership relations, and public relations; maintains successful sales climate in tandem with the marketing team
  • Along with Marketing Communications Manager and VP of Operations, helps to develop affordable housing loan opportunities and other programs for membership.
  • Participates as a member of the Executive Team and ALCO team
  • Responsible for competitive information in the review and ongoing improvements of products. Maintains competitive analytical information to determine impact on credit union services, and uses results of data to measure potential demand for new products.
  • Develops ongoing market research projects and applies data output to ongoing tactical and strategic goals.
  • Researches and produces annual forecast of deposit and loan product activity based on needs based market segmentation analysis, critical to the budget process. Develops tactics to achieve targeted growth, implements tactics, tracks results monthly, and refines tactics as necessary.
